ABOUT US

From a young age I have always known I wanted to be a Farrier. I've been around horses all my life from riding to showing. My passion for horses has never changed.

My working career begun in 2010 when I started my 5 year apprenticeship in Brecon, South Wales. I attended Warwickshire College throughout my apprenticeship where I completed the Diploma in Farriery and successfully passed.

During the 4 and a half years of college, I gained a further more achievment and got second out of the college for the best portfolio research and evidence and passed block 7 NVQ.

Also during the apprenticeship winning best shod horse with Mrs Anthea Birch pony pen close worst at BDS Wales show.

I qualified as a farrier after completing my apprenticeship with Marc Jones DipWCF (HONS). I collected my certificate in London at the Honourable Artillery Company where it was presented to me by the master of the Worshipful Company of Farriers.

Over the years I have developed my skills in Farriery, ensuring I complete work to the highest standard. I also attend seminars across the country and taking extra courses to further my training and skill. I'm an active participant in ‘Continuing Professional Development’ (CPD) activities, I regularly attend clinics, demonstrations, conferences and training days to ensure my knowledge is broad and current. Farriers are encouraged to gain 10 ‘CPD’ points a year and I exceed this every year. I will continue my studies to maintain and improve my knowledge ensuring I am able to provide you as my customer the correct information about any issues your equine may have.

I'm a regular author of farriery articles for equine and Product publications I also gives lectures to horse owners and the local Pony Club and Riding Clubs. I also have great communications with local Equine Vets, working alongside and with to ensure your horse is in the best hands.

I offer a professional, un-rushed service ensuring that each horse has the time it deserves, as I believe a good shoeing/trimming experience is essential. I offer a wide range of services and I attend regular seminars to keep up to date with the latest developments in farriery and natural barefoot trimming.

My passion for the profession is as evident today as when I first began my training. I consider myself extremely lucky to look forward to going to work every day.

Hoof Care Products

I stock a small selection of hoof care products from time to time. It may be necessary to support the overall health of your horses feet by way of a topical application and/or dietary supplementation. This may be due to poor or slow horn growth, infection such as thrush or white line disease or for general maintenance of a healthy hoof. I will discuss this with you should the situation arise, however, please feel free to ask about the range of products available.
